Semen and Their Type

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

Semen is a white or grey liquid, emitted from the urethra (tube in the penis) on ejaculation. During the process of ejaculation, sperm passes through the ejaculatory ducts and mixes with fluids from the seminal vesicles, the prostate, and the bulbourethral glands to form the semen. The seminal vesicles produce a yellowish viscous fluid rich in fructose and other substances that makes up about 70% of human semen. The prostatic secretion, influenced by dihydrotestosterone, is a whitish (sometimes clear), thin fluid containing proteolytic enzymes, citric acid, acid phosphatase and lipids. The bulbourethral glands secrete a clear secretion into the lumen of the urethra to lubricate it.

Where semen is made

Testicles and epididymes (5 per cent)
Seminal vesicles (46 to 80 per cent)
Prostate gland (13 to 33 per cent)
Bulbourethral and urethral glands (2 to 5 per cent)

What is Considered Abnormal Semen?

Low Volume of Ejaculate
A decrease in semen, or an absence of semen from the seminal vesicle, can sometimes be due to a blockage.

Watery Semen
Watery semen is usually a sign of retrograde ejaculationin which the ejaculate goes backwards into the bladder. This is not dangerous, but abnormal liquefaction of semen may also be caused by prostate abnormalities.

Thick or Lumpy Semen
The viscosity of semen can vary for a number of different reasons. short period of time this will also effect the amount produced. Volume and sperm production can decline with age, but potency is not necessarily affected.

Red or Brown Colored Semen
If your semen is stained with a red or brown colored fluid it may be caused by blood. Sometimes a small blood vessel may burst when you ejaculate. Blood in semen may be present for many different reasons, such as infection, trauma and sometimes, but rarely, cancer.

Yellowish or Green Colored Semen
Where semen is uncharacteristically yellow or greenish in color it is a sign of infection, often due to a sexually transmitted disease called gonorrhea. Go to your local STD clinic.

Foul Smelling Semen
Foul smelling semen is nearly always a sign of infection. Go and see your doctor.

Tips for Keeping Your Sex Life Alive

lovebirds

Sex is a gift for the couple to love each other, and get attention from the couple. Many couples have sex not only for biological needs, but also the need for attention and affection from her/his partner. Keeping your sex life alive is vital to a healthy marriage. Sex is the gateway to emotional and physical intimacy between a man and wife. It is the only act that you share only with the other.

There are many ways to keep your sex life remained harmonious.

Get creative. In general a couple would do well to revisit adolescence: “Get in the car, park somewhere. Or run off into the woods for an hour. I don’t mind saying that that worked rather well in my own life.” (more…)

Depression and libido

Friday, December 4th, 2009

Depression is a common result of both the diagnosis and the treatment of breast cancer, and it directly affects your interest in sex. If you’re depressed, sex may be the last thing you want to deal with. (You may even develop a real aversion to sex.) A sensitive partner picks up on this and holds back. But then, when you’ve recovered, your partner may continue to show no interest in sex, and you may assume it’s because you’re no longer desirable.

If you are depressed and unable to turn the corner, you need help. Try to consider therapists or group support. You’ve undoubtedly heard of the success of new medications, but you’ll have to be careful. Some therapies for depression may cause loss of libido, Medications must be carefully administered and monitored by a qualified medical professional (usually a psychiatrist). Effective dose levels are important and not always appropriately prescribed, and for many medications it takes three weeks or more for you to feel the benefit.

Depression, however, is too debilitating a condition to ignore, so be sure to seek help. There are some things that time alone doesn’t heal.

If you are taking any drug, talk to your doctor about which drug are safe for you to take.

If you’re having problems with sex, you might want to try downplaying the importance of orgasm, at least for a while. While you’re recovering, try concentrating on pleasure from touching, kissing, and imagery, rather than penis-in-vagina orgasm. De-emphasizing vaginal orgasm may actually allow it to happen again sooner than you expected.loss of libido may not be much of a problem. But if it is for you, talk to your doctor about the possibility of a hormone evaluation

Hair loss

We never care for our hair and that is why one day we need to pay for it. One day we certainly see that our hairs are going back and we come to know that we are getting bald. Then we check the hairs on the apex of the head, but there also we realize that there are very few hairs remaining. We get stuck by the shock that we are going bald. Once the hair fall starts it really becomes difficult to get the hair back on those bald patches. Hair loss process augments as the days passed and within few months you go completely bald. (more…)

5 Things and Masturbation

Masturbate

Experts say that just about every man who can masturbate does -and why not? You don’t need an expert to tell you that solo sex feels good, relieves stress, and is a terrific sleep aid. But here are five things you may not know about masturbation:

1. There’s no such thing as “abnormal” masturbation.

Men often wonder if there’s something abnormal about the way they masturbate. But experts are loath to offer specific definitions of “normal” and “abnormal,” pointing out that men show great variations in both frequency and technique. Every man masturbates in his own way, whether he “uses his hands, rubs against something, uses a sex toy or household object, wears special clothing, fantasizes, looks at a book or magazine, tries different positions, or looks in a mirror.”

2. Masturbation is very safe — but not entirely safe.

Unlike sex with a partner, masturbation can’t give you a sexually transmitted disease. Nor will it subject you to the muscle strains, pokes in the eye, and awkward moments that can come with partner sex. But masturbation safety isn’t guaranteed. Masturbation is just about the safest sex “But the laws of physics and biology don’t stop operating just because someone is masturbating.”

Frequent or overly vigorous masturbation can irritate the skin of the penis, as the average guy knows all too well. Less well known is that habitually masturbating face down — for example, by thrusting against a sheet, pillow, or even a carpeted floor — can injure the urethra in such a way that urine exits the penis not in a stream but in a hard-to-control spray. Barbara Bartlik, MD, a psychiatrist and sex therapist in New York City, says she’s seen facedown masturbators with urethral trauma so severe that they are no longer able to use a urinal and must urinate while seated.

In certain extremely rare instances, masturbation and partner sex alike can cause penile fracture.

3. Solo sex can supercharge your sex life — or scuttle it.

For various reasons, solo sex can be a real boon to sex with a partner. It helps teach men about their own sexual response — what feels good to them and what doesn’t — so they will be better able to explain to their partners just how they like to be touched. It helps men learn to recognize the “moment of inevitability” just before orgasm and helps teach them how to avoid premature ejaculation.

Of course, some men become so obsessed with solo sex that they begin to lose interest in having sex with their partner. The resulting hurt feelings and alienation a partner feels can make it hard to sustain the relationship. But experts are quick to point out that masturbation is perfectly OK even for men in a committed relationship.

4. Certain forms of masturbation can lead to sexual dysfunction.

Experts warn that men who frequently stimulate themselves in ways that don’t simulate sex with a partner — for example, stroking very rapidly or with great pressure or friction — can develop retarded ejaculation. That’s a type of sexual dysfunction in which it is difficult or even impossible to climax during partnered sex. “Any man experiencing any sexual dysfunction should ask himself if he’s masturbating in ways that produce sensations that differ from those he gets from his partner’s hand, mouth, or vagina.

5. Masturbation may affect the risk for prostate cancer.

The relationship between masturbation and prostate cancer is a bit hazy.

A 2003 Australian study published in BJU International linked frequent ejaculation early in life with reduced risk for prostate cancer later on. But in a 2004 study published in The Journal of the American Medical Association, a researcher reported that “ejaculation frequency is not related to increased risk of prostate cancer.” In both these studies, ejaculation frequency included sexual intercourse and masturbation.

Premature Ejaculation Tips

To focus on lasting longer, we really need to look at a bigger perspective. So that would involve seeing that sexual energy is our life force energy.

You know, it’s not just a stress release thing, you know, when we have sex with our partner. There is a much bigger perspective.

So it’s the same energy that makes everything possible that’s in existence, from the sun and the planets and the oceans to human beings and the plants and the animals; the driving force is our sexual energy. So that in a way is our will to live.

And so the birthright of every human being is to fully experience their infinite capacity for pleasure, for orgasm and for intimacy. And so number one, most people don’t realize that your sexual energy is for your health.

Your health physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and sexually. So when a man learns how to increase his capacity to first of all experience pleasure by lasting longer, they’re able to experience longer periods of arousal and his sex life has a totally different quality.

So rather than just being a stress release mechanism, it can become a rich, fulfilling experience for a man, and for his partner, of course.

Que:why do men experience premature ejaculation?

Ans: I would say the number one reason that men experience it is anxiety of, “Oh my god, it’s gonna happen again,” or simply being totally back in the past and stressed out and in a state of tension because that is what happens near pretty much all of the time or all of the time.

And so in a way the cause of premature ejaculation, or why men experience it, is psychological. It’s to do with the way that they’re thinking, rather than being present in their body.

And I’d actually like to define what premature ejaculation is, because a lot of men ask me, “Well, my natural sexual response, you know, I seem to come very very quickly. Is that normal? How long should it be?”

And so really the definition of premature ejaculation is an inability to delay ejaculation to the point where it’s mutually desirable for both partners.

And so you see the definition is quite subjective. So you can’t put, you know, a timed thing on what premature ejaculation is. The crucial thing is that if a man and his partner is satisfied with their sexual interaction or not.

The psychological causes of why a man might experience that, let’s look first of all at anxiety and concern, usually about sexual performance.

So a man might have incredible anxiety about pleasing his partner, he might have so much tension in his body that he’s not even really aware of the sensations in his body.

So that seems to be one of the key things that happens for a man who’s experiencing sex like this.

Que: Is there anything that a man can do to change all of this?

Ans: There is a lot that a man can do to change this, and really the basis of what I’ve found that works over and over again for a man is to be able to experience more relaxation.

Simple relaxation and letting go of any kind of outcome or specific outcome of what it should look like and what’s meant to happen and how long he’s meant to last for.

And so there are two key pieces, but also when you look at the bigger perspective again, if a man can reframe sex as a natural healing act, that can change his entire outlook on letting go of the performance and what it should look like.

Then another key piece is actually educating himself about his body first of all, and then obviously about his partner’s.

But the more that a man learns about his own physical body and his own sexual response as intimately as he can, then he’s naturally going to have a lot more confidence in how he has his sex life.

Sex Toys Safe or Not?

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

Sex toys can be a great addition to your sex life, whether you use them on your own, or with a partner. Sex toys can be used just for fun, or, in some cases, they are recommended to help people who have difficulty reaching orgasm.

Sex toys are safe if they are used responsibly

If you share sex toys, make sure that you take the same precautions as you would for penetrative sex. You may even want to put a condom over penetrative sex toys, such as dildos. Condoms should also be changed when using the sex toy on different parts of the body.

If you are pregnant, it is safe to use sex toys, but you should take care when using penetrative sex toys if you are less than 12 weeks into your pregnancy. Over vigorous use could cause damage to your reproductive system. You should also take extra care to ensure that your sex toy is clean before using it, in order to avoid an infection which could be passed on to you, or your baby.

Some sex toys, or sex aids, such as whips, or chains, may be designed to cause mild pain or damage to the skin. If you use anything that may draw blood, it is important that you do not share them, and that you keep them only for personal use. Sex toys, while a lot of fun are by no means necessary to having a good (or great) sex life. But if you like them, hopefully the turn off will pass, and maybe some information on what we know, and don’t know, about the safety of sex toys will help.

Unfortunately there is very little scientific data on the safety of sex toys, and I have come across websites that, in my opinion, make too many generalizations about the potential danger of sex toys (sometimes for reasons that seem a little self-serving). For example, there is simply no data that can confirm that “most sex toys have cancer-causing ingredients”. Also, it is untrue to say that silicone is the only material that is “safe” to use. It’s possible that ten years from now we’ll discover something in the manufacturing of silicone that poses a health risk. Scientists are constantly learning more about how the chemicals we come in contact with impact our health and the best we can do is keep up to date on what the research can tell us. The bad news is that scientists often leave sex out of their research, with the obvious exception of sexually transmitted disease research. As such finding information on the safety of sex toys can be difficult.

We do know that many soft rubber toys are made using phthalates , which have been linked to several environmental and individual health issues, in a variety of other consumer products. The most common sex toys that are made with phthalates are called jelly rubber but many other kinds of soft rubber toys also contain phthalates.

As with any other safer sex issue the important thing is for you to understand and assess their own risk , which you can only do by getting as much information as you can, and making a thoughtful decision, preferably not in the heat of the moment. There is no doubt that higher quality, hypoallergenic, materials, such as silicone, and elastomers, are the better choice. But they are expensive and out of reach for many of us. Using a latex condom on an inexpensive toy will reduce the risk of reacting to it, but may not eliminate risk entirely.

Weight loss Treatment

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

Weight loss obsession has hit America by storm as of late. The country’s obesity rate seemed like a matter no one much cared about just last year. Suddenly, the attitude of the American people shifted from “eating” to “healthy eating”. While American’s sudden strive to a healthier lifestyle is promising, many do not know the secret formulas of losing weight. There really are no secrets.

Everyone’s body is built differently, yet the common formula works just the same for everyone in order to lose all those love handles. To level with you, realistically, losing weight is not easy. It can be accomplished however, with the right lifestyle changes that are not too difficult to understand.

The simple five steps for dummies listed below will show any willing American how to lose weight and keep it off. Read on, and follow the directions. It’s as simple as that.

1.) Regular exercise : If you have never had much exercise, now is the time to start. Regular exercise is the number one way to lose weight and cut the fat out of your body. If this is your first time starting out you should try and go to the gym three days a week to start.

Working out in small amounts of every muscle in your body will make you burn calories and fat from every part of your body. Try not to look at what the other lifters are doing and pay attention to your own routine. Everyone knows you are just starting out, there’s no use to try and do things you know you cannot while damaging your body and running the risk of serious injury in the process.

While starting out, do not forget to stretch as your injury risk will be significantly lowered if your body is fully loose. After a month of regular exercise you will likely see some results, and this will be the perfect time to step up the gear into a five-day-a-week routine to get the maximum results you can.

2.) Step yourself up in the aerobic department : Nothing will burn more fat from your body then simple aerobic exercise. The treadmill is a very boring state of exercise however, so I suggest using the elliptical for all your aerobic needs.

The elliptical burns roughly ninety-two percent of the calories that the treadmill does, yet it is much more satisfying and will likely push you to stay on it longer then the treadmill would. While the treadmill works over your entire body, the elliptical focuses more on your lower body so you may decide where you want to do your aerobics based on the parts of the body you need to trim.

3.) Use those free weights : It has been proven that using free weights will not only get more of a pump for your muscle, but will help your body burn more fat as well. Working out with machines helps trim down your muscle need to move the weights, thus making you work less efficiently, and burning less fat as the result.

4.) Obey the nutritional laws : Listen carefully. Eating right is the most important part of losing weight and breaking out of those love handles. By cutting down fatty foods (French fries, breaded meals, fried foods, chips), disposing of fast-acting carbohydrates (soda, anything that has artificial sugar), and sugar (cookies, cakes, etc.) you will obtain a good looking body and see results within the first month.

Regular exercise with a junk food diet will get you no where toward your goal of achieving a healthy and good looking body. The first two weeks of restricting yourself from your favorite snacks will be the hardest, afterwards you will realize that a great looking stomach is much more important then that old doughnut in the back of the refrigerator.

5.) Keep at it : This is the most important step out of all. You need to start the program and keep at it. While it may feel exhausting to continuously limit your fatty foods while dragging yourself to the gym, it is worth it. If you truly strive to lose the weight, keep it off, and look great there is no other way. Remember the Nike commercial “Just Do It.”? That’s the way everyone should be thinking when it comes to weight loss. Just do it. That’s all.

The five easy steps above will help you lose the weight and love handles you so sorely want out of your life. A flat stomach leads to many advantages including looking better, feeling better, a confident state of mind, more energy, a better sex drive, and much more. It is worth it. Just believe and continue working on the program day in and day out. Just do it. The results will come
